Te Hinengaro Te Tohu - The mind is the measure of the man!
Kapa Haka
Last year (2006) our school Kapa Haka team travelled to Rarotonga to participate in a multi-culture festival called the Maevanui Festival.
Our Kapa Haka group is internationally acclaimed through periodic overseas trips and was placed 3rd overall in the inaugural Te Ahurea Tino Rangatiratanga National Competition for Secondary School Kapa Haka in the year 2000 and were finalists in the 2002 and 2004 competitions.
Opportunities to take part in traditional Maori arts and crafts and activities are given. These include Marae experiences, Waiata and Haka, Tangi and Powhiri.
The College has its own marae, Kura-ki-uta. New staff and pupils, dignitaries and visiting groups are welcomed to the school at a powhiri on our marae.
